Destinations on the Horizon

Places we’re exploring for the future.

Some journeys have happened. Others are still taking shape. This is where future routes, questions and possibilities can live — clearly marked as plans, not memories.

Future Journeys

I don’t travel to collect countries. I travel when a place gives me a reason to go. These are some of the places still calling me — and perhaps the starting points of stories I haven’t written yet.

Tuscany, Italy

FUTURE JOURNEY

Tuscany attracts me because it seems to understand something I am still learning: a good life does not always have to move faster. I want to experience its villages, food and landscape slowly — without turning the journey into another schedule to complete.

South Africa

RETURN TO AFRICA

Africa has challenged me, surprised me and changed the way I see the world. South Africa would not be just another destination. It would be a return to a continent that has already left its mark on me — this time with more patience and fewer assumptions.

Japan

UPCOMING JOURNEY · 2026

At 76, CROSSING JAPAN ON TWO WHEELS

Japan has been on my mind for years. Not simply as a destination, but as a culture shaped by precision, respect, simplicity and contradiction.

In 2026, at the age of 76, I will travel through Japan and explore it in the way I like best: slowly, independently and with curiosity. Part of that journey will be on two wheels — close enough to the landscape, the people and everyday life to experience more than the usual tourist route.

I am interested not only in where the road leads, but in what Japan may teach me about discipline, beauty, ageing, simplicity and the art of living with attention.

This journey has not happened yet. The story will be written on the road.

Portugal

FUTURE JOURNEY

Portugal attracts me for a different reason. The Atlantic light, the slower rhythm and the closeness of the ocean suggest a life with more space and less noise. I want to discover whether that feeling survives beyond the beautiful images.

Canada

FUTURE JOURNEY

Canada interests me because of its scale. The distances, silence and wilderness offer the possibility of disappearing from the noise for a while. At this stage of my life, space is not emptiness. It is freedom.

New Zealand

FUTURE JOURNEY

New Zealand lies almost at the other end of the world from my home. That distance is part of its attraction. I want to travel through its landscapes without racing from highlight to highlight — stopping wherever curiosity gives me a reason to stay.

Argentina

RETURN JOURNEY

Argentina would not be a first encounter. It would be a return. After Patagonia, Buenos Aires and the Andes, I know there is still more to discover. Some countries do not feel completed when you leave them. They remain unfinished stories.

I don’t travel simply to add another place to the map.
I wait for the right place, in the right season, for the right reason.
